Ford Ranch / Hamlin Ranch

21,000 acres of classic Central Texas hunting country.

Many Heart of Texas Bowhunting hunts take place on the famous Ford Ranch, home of the world-record Brady Buck. The ranch provides approximately 21,000 contiguous acres of hunting property and is a major part of Heart of Texas Bowhunting's broader ~25,000-acre hunting program.

Hamlin Cattle Co. formerly Ford Ranch

Established in 1842: The land was originally acquired and owned by the Ford family, remaining under their stewardship for well over a century.

The property has long functioned as a working animal unit ranch, utilizing textbook planned rotational grazing to maintain elite rangeland health and heavy grass cover.

Alongside cattle, the estate operates as a premier low-fence commercial hunting venue. The ranch maintains a robust population of whitetail, Rio Grande turkey, quail, and free-ranging axis deer.

After being held by the same family lineage for generations, the expansive property was offered to the market and sold, marking a rare ownership transition for one of Central Texas's largest legacy tracts.

The Legend of the "Brady Buck"

The ranch achieved legendary status in the wildlife community as the origin of the "Brady Buck" (sometimes called the Benson Buck), a colossal free-ranging non-typical whitetail deer featuring 78 points and scoring 284 3/8ths by Boone & Crockett.

Harvested in the early 1890s, this single animal held the prestigious Boone & Crockett world record for more than 25 years and is considered the genetic baseline for the trophy bucks that continue to roam the area today.
